E3 is an amazing thing, but when you’re there (and working), you don’t always get to see that many games. So I’ve been enjoying catching up on the titles I missed seeing in person… and now I’m sharing the (immense) list of stories I’ve been reading with you.
From what I did get to play or see in the flesh, I was especially taken with Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Assassin’ Creed III & Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, Guacamelee (played on PS Vita), PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (Big Daddy is a badass), and Jet Set Radio PS Vita. Wish I had a time to see and play more, but it seemed clear to me that the quality of games on display this year was very, very high. This will be a good year for gaming – of this I have no doubt. The PS.Blog weekly reading list (Week of June 4, 2012) The Last of Us is even smarter than you think – VentureBeat E3 2012: MGS2 and MGS3 Have Been ReVamped and HD-ified for Vita – Giant Bomb `E3 2012: Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation Channels Splinter Cell – IGN E3 2012: Combat, Exploration and Hilarity in Guacamelee! – IGN LittleBigPodcast Episode 176 (E3 2012!) – YouTube Ragnarok Tactics Coming To PSP In North America This November – Siliconera E3: I played Silent Hill: Book of Memories and LIKED it – Destructoid E3 2012: Dust 514 Interview – Giant Bomb E3 Exclusive: Activision Confirms Angry Birds HD on Consoles – The Escapist E3: Persona 4 Golden makes me want a Vita – Destructoid Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance preview – Shacknews.com E3: Orgarhythm is hard to explain, but fun to play – Destructoid E3 2012: The 17-Minute Last of Us Demo – IGN Getting crafty with LittleBigPlanet Karting – Joystiq Last Of Us Dev Becomes Unwitting E3 Meme Hero – Kotaku E3: Jet Set Radio on Vita is Dreamcast-alicious – Destructoid New Little King’s Story Hands-On: Same Game, Darker Coat Of Paint – Siliconera E3 2012: LittleBigPlanet Could Save the Vita – IGN Portal 2 adding PlayStation Move support, new levels later this year – Shacknews.com E3: ‘Smart As…’ proves game journalists are stupid – Destructoid Big Daddy Gave The Other PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Players A Beatdown – Siliconera E3 2012: The Unfinished Swan Interview – Giant Bomb Here’s Proof That Final Fantasy VII Will Actually Run On Your Vita – Kotaku E3: I’m sorry, but DmC: Devil May Cry was great fun – Destructoid Beyond: How Quantic Dream’s latest is more than just Heavy Rain 2 – Shacknews.com God of War: Ascension has god-like multiplayer action, all-new tricks for Kratos – The Verge Fewer guns, better fighting, unique setting: Sleeping Dogs should be on your radar – The PA Report The director of the Last of Us explains how to cast a game and get real performances from your leads – The PA Report Papo and Yo erases monstrosity with art: an interview with the game’s creator – The PA Report Sony’s ‘wacky’ Tokyo Jungle headed to North America and Europe – Joystiq A virtual excursion through Sony’s E3 booth – Joystiq ‘Papo & Yo’ might make you cry – The Verge ‘Beyond: Two Souls’ impresses with its blend of narrative and technology – The Verge E3 2012: Dust 514, the Deepest FPS You’ve Ever Played – IGN E3: SunFlowers Brings A Ray Of Fun To Vita – PSNStores ‘Sine Mora’ announced for PlayStation Vita – National Video Game – Examiner.com The Unfinished Swan is one of the darling indie games of E3 (hands-on preview) – VentureBeat Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Patients Receive PlayStations To Help Isolated Kids Digitally Interact – Huffington Post Yoshida: Small games, indies crucial to Vita success – Gamasutra ‘The Last of Us’ isn’t about monsters but humanity – The Verge Ellen Page in ‘Beyond: Two Souls’: casting for the next generation of motion capture – The Verge E3 2012: Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida on Vita and disruption – VG247 PlayStation’s digital strategy relies on the ‘core’ gamer – Gamasutra Quantic Dream’s Beyond: Two Souls is one of the best games of E3 (in-depth preview) – VentureBeat The Last of Us E3 Preview: Violence for a Reason – TIME.com E3: PS Vita’s ‘LittleBigPlanet’ puts creative power in gamers’ hands – latimes.com ‘The Last of Us’ rocks E3, world’s largest video game expo – Yahoo!
