Google announced during its Google I/O developer conference last month that a new version of its Google+ app for iOS would be coming soon, and today it is available for download in the iTunes App Store. The big new feature with the updated app is proper support for the iPad tablet, complete with a tablet-optimized interface and new light-colored theme. The new tablet interface is not unlike the version for Android tablets that debuted last month, and features a side scrolling feed and multi-touch gestures for sharing and viewing posts. The iPhone version retains the dark theme of the older Google+ app, but both versions also gain access to the new Google+ Events feature and the ability to start video hangouts from the device. You can download the new Google+ app for iOS for free from the iTunes App Store now.
