AT&T will discontinue use of its 2G network by 2017. In an SEC filing entered today, AT&T said it would transition customers to 3G and 4G as it invests in more modern network technologies. The carrier will gradually shutdown its EDGE network in select markets until the network is fully decommissioned by January 1, 2017.
