Practically 1,800 Spirit Airways flight attendants will lose their jobs simply earlier than the busy Christmas journey season, the airline confirmed.
“As a part of our ongoing restructuring, we’re taking steps to align staffing with our fleet measurement and anticipated flight quantity,” the airline stated in a press release to FOX Enterprise.
“In step with this course of, we’ve made the tough determination to furlough roughly 1,800 Flight Attendants, efficient Dec. 1, 2025,” it stated.
The information comes after Spirit Airways filed its second chapter in August, and company consultants have stated they don’t anticipate the airline to outlive for much longer.

On Thursday, Spirit Airways CEO Dave Davis warned workers that the airline is chopping 1 / 4 of its flight schedule in November because it restructures its enterprise.
Davis informed workers in a Wednesday memo, reviewed by FOX Enterprise, that the service will scale back its capability by 25% 12 months over 12 months in November to “optimize our community to deal with our strongest markets.”

Again in July, Spirit Airways introduced it was furloughing 270 pilots on Nov. 1 and a further 140 pilots can be demoted on Oct. 1.

Additionally on Monday, the Florida-based price range airline introduced a fall sale with flights beginning at $44 “one approach to a number of the greatest autumn locations throughout its community,” a press launch stated.

“Furloughs can set off a fancy mixture of feelings — unhappiness for misplaced alternatives, concern about monetary safety, anger at circumstances past one’s management, and even guilt for feeling relieved if you happen to weren’t affected as severely as others,” Spirit Airways Affiliation of Flight Attendants-CWA stated in a publication to its members on Monday.
