The Consumer Product Safety Commission stated that electrical outlet strips offered on Amazon are being pulled from the market due to a potential fire hazard.
This withdrawal encompasses CCCEI-branded electrical strips marketed by Middle Way Electronics, equipped with 6-foot, 10-foot, and 15-foot power cables. Each strip features a black metallic housing, six power outlets, and distinct on/off switches for every one. These faulty units originated from China.
The CCCEI-branded electrical strips lack additional overcurrent protection, a deficiency the regulator indicated poses a fire danger if the strips become overloaded. Should the product ignite, it has the potential to cause grave injuries or fatalities from smoke asphyxiation and burns, as per the CPSC.

Middle Way Electronics has obtained two instances of the electrical strips emitting sparks and liquefying. However, it has not received any incidents of fires or impairments concerning the product.
