Within a video starring chief executive and co-founder Evan Spiegel, Snap further provides an account of “Reals” as an environment in which “authentic individuals present genuine experiences. Genuinely.” Spiegel goes on to say that “Users are encouraged to express their complete identities and to stay genuine on Snapchat” (Snap rendered “Real” in uppercase within the video’s captions).
Spiegel additionally leveraged the clip to prompt recollection among users regarding its transient Stories format—a feature Instagram replicated, much like TikTok’s upright video stream.
