    Oklahoma advances to ninth consecutive WCWS

    NORMAN, Okla. — Gabbie Garcia hit two of Oklahoma’s 4 dwelling runs and the four-time defending nationwide champion Sooners beat Alabama 13-2 in 5 innings on Saturday to win the Norman Tremendous Regional and clinch a berth within the Girls’s School World Sequence.

    Oklahoma (50-9), which is 42-0 this season when scoring no less than six runs, has received no less than 50 video games in 9 consecutive seasons and superior to the WCWS every of the final 9 instances it was performed (2020 was canceled attributable to COVID-19).

    The Sooners enter the WCWS having outscored opponents 47-5 within the NCAA match. Their plus-42 run differential is the seventh-best by any group within the match all-time, with 5 of the earlier six occurring to win the title, in response to ESPN Analysis.

    Parker, Garcia and McEnroe-Marinas every hit a house run within the sixth inning to present the Sooners a 13-2 lead.

    Parker had three hits — two doubles — and three RBIs.

    Kierston Deal (10-2) gave up two runs on three hits with 4 strikeouts over 4 innings and Audrey Lowry pitched a scoreless fifth to seal it.

    Kali Heivilin and Marlie Giles every hit a solo shot for Alabama (40-23). Catelyn Riley (11-4) pitched 2 1/3 innings and gave up 5 runs on six hits with three walks.

    Garcia, a freshman, has 20 dwelling runs this season.
