    Spurs’ Stephon Citadel headlines NBA’s All-Rookie crew

    NEW YORK — San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Citadel, the league’s rookie of the 12 months, was the one unanimous first-team choice for the All-Rookie crew.

    Citadel, who averaged 14.7 factors, 3.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists, was the one participant to get first crew votes from all 100 members of the worldwide panel of sportswriters and broadcasters who solid ballots to determine many of the NBA’s annual awards.

    He was joined on the primary crew by Atlanta’s Zaccharie Risacher (who was one vote away from unanimous standing), Memphis teammates Jaylen Wells and Zach Edey, and Washington’s Alex Sarr.

    Citadel performed 80 video games as a rookie, beginning in 47, and led all rookies in complete factors (1,190), made area objectives (423) and steals (74). He hit greater than 100 extra free throws (249) than some other first-year participant. He was the primary Spurs rookie since Tim Duncan to complete his first season ranked within the high two on the crew in each factors and assists.

    The second-team choices have been Miami’s Kel’el Ware, Chicago’s Matas Buzelis, New Orleans’ Yves Missi, Portland’s Donovan Clingan and Washington’s Bub Carrington.

    Edey (73 first-team votes, 27 second-team votes) joined Citadel and Risacher as the one gamers to look someplace on all 100 ballots. Wells was on 99 ballots, Sarr was on 96 and Ware was on 94.

    Utah’s Isaiah Collier was one level shy of tying Carrington for the ultimate spot on the second crew.
