Barcelona will visit their regional competitors, Girona, on Monday, as they seek to recover the top position in La Liga.
After Real Madrid’s 4-1 victory at their stadium over Real Sociedad on Saturday established a two-point lead over Barca, the latter side is also aiming to bounce back from their worst drubbing of the season during their 60-mile trek north.
The Catalans were beaten by a margin of 4-0 at Atletico Madrid on Thursday in the opening encounter of their 2025/26 Copa del Rey last-four stage.
Although Girona currently sit in the middle of the standings, they have been winless across three consecutive fixtures. In the previous season, Barca secured a 4-1 triumph in this same encounter, thanks to a double from Lamine Yamal.
