Renowned actress Sydney Sweeney recently stopped by the Portuguese football club Sporting CP, where she appeared to mimic the signature goal celebration of one of the club’s former players, Manchester United’s captain Bruno Fernandes.
Sweeney was present in Lisbon, the capital metropolis, on Friday to witness Sporting, the home team, overcome Estoril with a 3-0 victory. This win maintains their proximity to the Portuguese Primeira Liga frontrunners, FC Porto.
The star from “The White Lotus” and “Euphoria” obtained a souvenir from her visit to the Estadio José Alvalade: a jersey emblazoned with “Sydney” on its reverse. After the match, on the pitch, she also had the opportunity to greet Jubas, the club’s colossal lion mascot.
Sweeney attempted a kick towards the net. Her reaction suggested she wasn’t able to score past the goalkeeper, yet this didn’t deter her from seemingly commemorating the moment in a well-known manner by bringing her hands up to conceal her ears.
Fernandes, who played for three campaigns at Sporting before transferring to Manchester United in January 2020, is famously known to mark netting a goal by performing an elaborate rendition of that very gesture.
