On Monday morning, Anthropic encountered extensive outages, as thousands of its users noted difficulties utilizing Claude’s services.
This service disruption appears to impact Claude.ai alongside Claude Code; however, the firm stated that the Claude API continues to operate properly. A majority of users encounter this fault while trying to sign in, as depicted in the following screenshot.
“The problems we are observing pertain to Claude.ai and its sign-in/sign-out processes,” declares the company’s status page. Anthropic has not yet specified what triggered the disruption, although the firm mentioned it has pinpointed a problem and is deploying a solution.
This service interruption comes after a surge of new users joined Claude. The platform appears to have gained from the spotlight on the company’s tense discussions with the Pentagon. This weekend, the chatbot application ascended to the peak of the App Store charts, surpassing its chief adversary ChatGPT, after having remained outside the top 20 for an extended period.
Last week, U.S. President Donald Trump instructed federal agencies to discontinue the utilization of Anthropic products. This directive followed a disagreement regarding protections aimed at hindering the Department of Defense from employing its AI models for widespread internal monitoring or completely self-governing armaments. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated his intention to classify the company as a risk to the procurement network, even though Anthropic asserts it has not yet obtained any official communications.
