The Baltimore Ravens have reached an agreement to acquire edge rusher Trey Hendrickson – after previously withdrawing from a transaction involving Las Vegas Raiders athlete Maxx Crosby.
The Raiders declared the Ravens had rescinded an agreement and, though no formal justification was provided, insiders informed ESPN the reason stemmed from apprehensions regarding five-time Pro Bowl defensive specialist Crosby’s medical examination.
The Baltimore team has now pursued Hendrickson, who became an unrestricted free agent upon departing from the Cincinnati Bengals.
According to ESPN, Hendrickson has consented to a four-year contract valued at $112 million, with the potential to reach $120 million through performance bonuses.
The agreement encompasses $60 million in full guarantees and a $20 million signing incentive.
Hendrickson sustained an injury late last season, yet the Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Commanders, and Philadelphia Eagles were all reportedly keen on securing his services as an unrestricted agent.
The Ravens failed to qualify for the postseason last year, concluding their season with an 8-9 standing in the AFC North division.
What caused the Crosby transaction to fall through?
Crosby had previously bid adieu in Las Vegas and articulated his eagerness about relocating to Baltimore under a three-year, $94 million pact, with the Raiders slated to acquire two initial-round draft selections as compensation.
On Saturday, he stated: “I am aware that nothing is assured in this endeavor. However, I intend to devote my entire heart and spirit to delivering a championship title to Baltimore. No further commentary is requisite for that objective.”
“I am incredibly thrilled. I eagerly anticipate arriving in the metropolis and encountering everyone.”

The 28-year-old underwent a knee operation in January, though his representative asserted that rehabilitation was steadily progressing as planned in a declaration posted on X.
CJ LaBoy penned: “Maxx remains on course with his recuperation, and is, if anything, ahead of the anticipated timetable, as per his surgeon, Dr. Neal El Attrache. Maxx is still projected to rejoin activities during the offseason regimen & will unquestionably reappear as the formidable disruptive force he has demonstrated himself to be over these preceding seven campaigns.”
