The Cabinet meeting
The Saudi Cabinet, during its session chaired today by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, approved granting the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing the authority to sell residential units in the ministry’s projects to non-subsidy beneficiaries, subject to regulations established by the ministry in conjunction with relevant authorities.
The Cabinet also approved several agenda items, including the National Strategies Governance Model, state-run news agency SPA reported.
The Crown Prince directed the relevant authorities to work with the highest levels of efficiency and excellence in implementing security, preventive, and organizational plans to serve pilgrims in Makkah, Madinah, the Holy Sites, and the Kingdom’s ports. This includes continuing to facilitate the arrival of pilgrims from their countries through the Makkah Road Initiative.
The Cabinet reviewed the remarkable progress in the Kingdom’s economic performance indicators, the rising levels of investment, and the increased participation of the private sector in development, as well as the integrated efforts between government sectors to maximize the use of national resources.
It affirmed that the record performance of non-oil exports in 2024 and their continued upward trajectory embody the accelerating steps towards diversifying sources of income and capitalizing on global opportunities and changes to build new gains in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
Furthermore, the Cabinet commended the significant and ongoing improvements in digital services in vital sectors, which contributed to the Kingdom’s ranking among the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries for the third consecutive time in the 2024 E-Government and Mobile Services Index issued by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia.
The Cabinet approved a declaration of intent between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the French Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Industry for joint cooperation in critical minerals.
It also authorized the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources—or his deputy—to negotiate with the US side regarding the draft memorandum of cooperation in the field of mining and mineral resources between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the US Department of Energy and to sign it.
