Iran’s supreme chief Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has hit again at a US proposal on Tehran’s nuclear programme, describing the Trump administration as “impolite” and “inconsiderate”.

In his first feedback for the reason that US submitted over the weekend what it described as a “detailed and acceptable” proposal for a deal on the problem, Iran’s final choice maker reiterated that the Islamic republic wouldn’t cease enriching uranium.

“The rude and impolite leaders of the US say this [that Iran should not have a nuclear industry],” Khamenei stated in a speech on Wednesday.

A European official confirmed that the Trump administration has been briefing that it might enable Iran to conduct low stage enrichment beneath an interim deal. However Washington has publicly stated ending enrichment in Iran is important to stop Tehran buying nuclear weapons.

Iran says its nuclear programme is for civilian use. “If we’ve 100 nuclear vegetation with out uranium enrichment, it’s ineffective,” Khamenei stated. “As a result of nuclear vegetation want gas, and if we can not produce it domestically, we’ve to beg the US, which could impose dozens of situations to provide us with nuclear gas.”
