Professional-EU candidate Rafał Trzaskowski was inching in direction of successful Poland’s presidential run-off vote on Sunday after exit polls gave him a razor-thin lead over his rightwing opponent.
An Ipsos exit ballot confirmed Trzaskowski, the Warsaw mayor representing Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s centre-right Civic Platform celebration, successful 50.3 per cent of votes in opposition to 49.7 per cent for Karol Nawrocki, a historian standing for the nationalist opposition Regulation and Justice (PiS) celebration.
The end result of the run-off, if confirmed by last outcomes, would enable Tusk to proceed along with his reform agenda. The electoral fee says it hopes last outcomes can be introduced on Monday morning or early afternoon.
