Detroit Lions broad receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has apologized if he “offended anybody” along with his “Trump dance” landing celebration Sunday whereas President Donald Trump was in attendance.
“To begin with, if I offended anybody, I do apologize. I didn’t imply to offend anybody. It was simply, we’re having enjoyable,” St. Brown stated on the “St. Brown Podcast” that he co-hosts along with his brother Equanimeous St. Brown. “If any president was at that sport and had a dance I might have finished it. It had nothing to do with who the president was.”
Clips of St. Brown’s celebration went viral on social media and acquired backlash from some followers.
Trump turned the primary sitting president since Jimmy Carter in 1978 to attend a regular-season NFL sport because the Lions defeated the Washington Commanders 44-22 at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland.
St. Brown did the celebration and pointed to the stands after a 9-yard landing catch within the first quarter, earlier than the president arrived.
“We had been simply having enjoyable, doing the dance. Nothing extra, nothing much less,” St. Brown stated on the podcast.
Trump reacted to St. Brown’s celebration by reposting a video to Reality Social that included a caption that dubbed the receiver “Amon-Ra St. Trump.”
