The Detroit Tigers agreed to a commerce Monday to amass beginning pitcher Chris Paddack from the Minnesota Twins, sources instructed ESPN, confirming an preliminary report from The Athletic.
The Tigers may even obtain right-hander Randy Dobnak within the deal, with catching/first-base prospect Enrique Jimenez going to the Twins, sources instructed ESPN.
Paddack, 29, is a free agent at season’s finish who carried a 4.95 ERA by means of his first 21 begins, hanging out 83 batters and strolling 27 in 111 innings.
Paddack, certainly one of six Twins gamers who can hit the open market this offseason, will add depth to a gifted Tigers rotation that has been in search of a fifth starter ever since Jackson Jobe was misplaced for the season with a torn ulnar collateral ligament.
