“You could have heard that my husband Ben goes by one thing,” Amy Askren wrote on Fb. “He developed extreme pneumonia which got here on very immediately. He is at present within the hospital and unable to reply to something at the moment. We welcome all prayers for therapeutic and peace.”

Askren (19-2), who retired from MMA in 2019, was a two-time NCAA Division I champion in wrestling and a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic workforce.
