OKLAHOMA CITY — Mia Scott hit a grand slam, Teagan Kavan claimed one other win and Texas defeated Texas Tech 10-4 in Sport 3 of the Girls’s School World Collection championship sequence on Friday night time to win its first nationwide title.
Kavan, a sophomore, allowed no earned runs in all 31 2/3 innings she pitched on the World Collection. She went 4-0 with a save within the World Collection for the Longhorns (56-12).
“It means the world,” she informed ESPN after the win. “I am so completely satisfied for this crew. We did it.”
Texas Tech star pitcher NiJaree Canady, who had thrown each pitch for the Purple Raiders by their first 5 World Collection video games, was pulled after one inning in Sport 3. She gave up 5 runs on 5 hits and solely threw 25 pitches.
Not even assist from former Texas Tech soccer star Patrick Mahomes and his spouse, Brittany, who have been in attendance, may put the Purple Raiders (54-14) excessive.
