Experts on The Big Money Show examine the intensifying cosmic competition between the United States and China.

Virgin Galactic is resuming ticket offerings for its private orbital journeys on a restricted capacity – however, fares have climbed above the company’s former price point.

This disclosure arrived in conjunction with the firm’s fiscal performance data for the fourth quarter and the entirety of 2025, suggesting that progress on its contingent of SpaceShips is advancing, which will enable the recommencement of private orbital journeys.

“During the initial quarter of 2026, we achieved crucial objectives. With the construction of our primary SpaceShip nearing completion and pre-flight trials slated to commence in April, we have made available a restricted quantity of Virgin Galactic cosmic voyages, each valued at $750,000,” Michael Colglazier, CEO of Virgin Galactic Holdings, declared in the announcement.

This $750,000 fare for Virgin Galactic’s for-profit celestial trips represents a hike of approximately $100,000 from the amount requested prior to the company halting its orbital operations almost 24 months past, a pause taken to concentrate on fabricating SpaceShips destined to manage its extraterrestrial travel ventures.

Colglazier mentioned that as the company’s initial SpaceShip is almost finished and prepared for trials, the assembly of its subsequent SpaceShip is advancing and is anticipated to enable its deployment towards the end of the current year or at the commencement of the subsequent one.

“Our manufacturing endeavors are now shifting to aid in the trials and creation of our second SpaceShip, which we anticipate will become operational between late Q4 2026 and early Q1 2027, consistent with our projected increase in the frequency of orbital missions,” he clarified.

“As the fabrication of SpaceShips is progressing smoothly, we are preparing for propulsion unit construction at our Phoenix facility, with fabrication slated to commence in Q4 2026,” Colglazier further stated.

“We are also prudently administering our funds to back our projected increase in financial influx derived from our private space transportation endeavors.”

In its comprehensive 2025 fiscal summary, Virgin Galactic reported that income declined from $7 million in 2024 to $2 million the previous year, with the halt in for-profit orbital journeys being the main catalyst for this change.

The firm’s latest Delta-category orbital vessels boast a greater capability to carry six travelers instead of four, and are additionally engineered to manage a more frequent schedule of cosmic voyages compared to Virgin Galactic’s Unity model.
