Artificial intelligence-driven transcription firm Wispr Flow has unveiled its Android application this very day. The enterprise initially made its software available for Mac and Windows, before introducing it on iOS in June 2025.

For iOS devices, individuals were able to engage with Wispr Flow via a specialized keyboard. However, on Android, the user interface presents a slight variation, where the transcription tool is reachable through a movable icon. Users have the option to press and hold this icon to commence dictation, or tap it once to begin and then activate a stop button to conclude the operation. Similar to its counterparts on other systems, beyond mere transcription, the application refines filler words and automatically styles the output according to the application’s environment and the spoken discourse.

“The Android ecosystem ultimately provided us the liberty to construct the auditory interaction we consistently envisioned. It is only when the underlying framework ceases to be an impediment that we can genuinely anticipate vocal input superseding textual input on portable devices,” stated Tanay Kothari, the co-founder and chief executive officer of the nascent company.

The application is capable of facilitating translation in more than 100 tongues and operates seamlessly within various other programs. Concurrent with the unveiling of the Android application, Wispr Flow announced a comprehensive re-engineering of its infrastructure, which results in dictation performance being 30% swifter than previously.

Although numerous artificial intelligence-driven transcription applications are accessible on desktop computers and iOS, Wispr Flow stands as one of the scarce options accessible on Android following this introduction, apart from Typeless, which released its application for the system just last month.

Furthermore, the firm has additionally introduced an innovative model tailored for Hinglish, a fusion of Hindi and English dialects, designed for individuals in India who communicate using a blended linguistic approach.

“For individuals akin to myself, English and Hindi inherently intermingle during conversations with relatives and associates in my native land. This represents an instance where I felt compelled to create a tool for personal use: the inaugural vocal model genuinely capable of facilitating transcription in Hinglish, rather than conventional Hindi characters,” Kothari declared.

The firm observed that despite an initial limited deployment to a chosen group of individuals, end-users have vocalized more than 1.3 million terms in the recent past.

Wispr Flow has emerged as a particularly prominent fledgling enterprise within the domain of artificial intelligence-driven transcription applications, which has garnered considerable interest from venture capitalists. During June, the nascent firm procured $30 million in capital, spearheaded by Menlo Ventures. A mere few months later, in November, the corporation procured an additional $25 million through a financing round led by Notable Capital. In aggregate, Wispr Flow has amassed a total of $81 million, with its most recent investment round reportedly appraising its worth at $700 million, as per informed parties.
