The Los Angeles Rams are extending the tenure of defensive back Kam Curl with a three-year, $36 million agreement, a source verified to ESPN on Friday.
This marks the second significant acquisition for the Rams’ defensive backfield this week. The Los Angeles franchise finalized a deal acquiring Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie, a 2023 All-Pro, a transaction that necessitated relinquishing the No. 29 choice in the 2026 NFL draft, among other selections, as reported by sources to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Curl, initially a seventh-round selection in 2020, has played the last two seasons with the Rams, having inked a two-year, $8.75 million contract in 2024. His professional journey began when he was drafted by the Commanders, spending the initial four years of his career in Washington.
At 26 years old, Curl achieved personal bests in both combined (122) and individual tackles (79) during the 2025 campaign. He secured two interceptions in the regular season and added another during the playoffs, significantly aiding Los Angeles in their advancement to the NFC Championship Game.
During the extra period of a tied contest in the divisional playoff stage, Curl picked off Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams within Rams’ defensive bounds. The Rams then converted a decisive field goal on their subsequent possession.
Across 93 regular-season matchups in his career, Curl has accumulated five interceptions, eight quarterback takedowns, four instances of forcing fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and 28 deflected passes.
