Leeds secured their berth in the FA Cup quarter-finals following a decisive 3-0 victory against Norwich, played at Elland Road.

The home team dominated a significant portion of the initial half, ultimately going ahead in the 32nd minute, thanks to

Sean Longstaff. Gabriel Gudmundsson rapidly advanced along the left flank and whipped in a ball that Longstaff expertly brought down before unleashing a crisp volley into the near corner, granting Leeds a merited lead.

Leeds extended their advantage to two goals shortly before the interval when Gudmundsson converted a goal, following his earlier assist. Dan James fired a powerful low cross into the penalty area that Norwich couldn’t clear, enabling the Swedish defender to connect with a half-volley into the bottom corner.

Norwich found it difficult to fashion distinct chances and failed to register an attempt on goal during the initial half.

Their most promising period occurred following halftime when Kenny McLean attempted a long-range shot against Karl Darlow, and incoming player Anis Ben Slimane nearly scored after a play featuring Amankwah Forson, though his attempt hit the upright.

Leeds continued to be the more dangerous team and sealed the victory in the 85th minute. Lukas Nmecha advanced centrally before passing the ball off to Joel Piroe, who precisely placed a left-footed shot into the side netting for his opening tally of the campaign.

The home team comfortably managed the final moments to clinch a dominant victory and progress to their inaugural FA Cup quarter-final in over two decades.
