In the early hours of Tuesday, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) momentarily suspended all JetBlue flights, following the airline’s request. This was detailed in a bulletin issued by the agency’s Air Traffic Control System Command Center. Related: Google Ignites India&#821…

This country-wide flight suspension, encompassing every destination and operational site, persisted between 12:35 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. ET, as indicated by the FAA’s notification.

In a press release, the FAA declared: “Services have resumed their normal course after JetBlue asked the FAA to halt flights across the nation for the night due to an internal technology problem.”

JetBlue informed FOX Business, stating: “A momentary system disruption has been rectified, and we have recommenced services.”

Flight suspensions momentarily impede aircraft from taking off as a problem is being resolved; however, planes already airborne are generally permitted to proceed to their intended locations.

This short-lived halt occurs amid a period where carriers have contended with numerous tech-related interruptions lately.

Last October, Alaska Airlines declared a system-wide flight halt affecting Alaska and Horizon Air services, following a malfunction at its main data hub. This resulted in a major technological breakdown, causing hundreds of flight scrubs across two days and derailing the itineraries of tens of thousands of travelers.

The airline subsequently stated it would enlist external technology specialists to fortify its networks and to “assess our complete IT framework to guarantee the necessary level of robustness. ”

That June, American Airlines encountered a “tech problem” which interfered with services and brought about extensive hold-ups.

Certain passengers noted extended periods of waiting on the airfield while the airline endeavored to rectify the issue.

The carrier stated a network problem had impacted specific systems, yet it collaborated with associates to reinstate the affected software and bring services back to their usual state.
