Dr. Mehmet Oz, the head of Medicare and Medicaid Services, addressed the Trump administration’s intensified action against claimed illicit activities within U.S. government social programs on ‘FOX Business In Depth: War on Fraud.’

Groups of individuals from other countries might be involved in deceptive practices concerning American end-of-life care, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Administrator for Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, cautioned on Wednesday during a special FOX Business broadcast, identifying a prominent metropolis as a primary point of worry.

Oz conveyed to presenter David Asman, “One must ponder the precise number of individuals genuinely passing away in Los Angeles.”

“[There are] nearly two thousand end-of-life care facilities in LA County. It is our conviction that fifty percent of these might be deceitful, and the underlying cause stems from Los Angeles and the state of California, which oversees these care providers, having been permissive.”

Oz proceeded, alleging that state and municipal oversight bodies were “entirely comfortable” with the predicament. Subsequently, he offered insights into potential culprits.

“It is our conviction that numerous such entities are established by organized Russian crime syndicates. Indeed, when attempts are made to apprehend these individuals, individuals from other nations occasionally flee to their homelands,” he conveyed.

These allegations have provoked indignation from the office of California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Izzy Gardon, a spokesperson for Newsom, responded sharply in a declaration to Fox News Digital at the start of the current month, stating, “While MAGA bloggers and simpletons like Dr. Oz might have only recently become aware of hospice fraud, California has been actively combating this issue for a long time.”

“In 2021, Governor Gavin Newsom enacted legislation prohibiting all fresh end-of-life care permits. That temporary prohibition remains active, preventing dishonest participants from joining the framework while the state intensifies scrutiny of current service providers,” Gardon proceeded to explain.

“Guided by the governor’s direction, the state established an inter-agency task force dedicated to end-of-life care deception, convening CDPH, CalHHS, DHCS, DSS and the California Department of Justice to effectuate apprehensions, disseminate information, probe illicit activities, and synchronize compliance efforts.”

Gardon highlighted that over 280 end-of-life care permits had been rescinded over the past twenty-four months. Furthermore, the spokesperson for Newsom mentioned that an additional 300 service providers were being scrutinized for possible cancellation.

Government representatives have remarked that their independent inquiries led to 109 felony indictments and 24 non-criminal deception lawsuits since Rob Bonta took up the post of California Attorney General, as reported by FOX 11 in Los Angeles.

Newsom, moreover, lodged a civil rights grievance against Oz concerning assertions leveled at Armenian populations within California at the start of this year, contending Oz had “uttered unfounded and ethnically sensitive accusations” which might possibly deter individuals from utilizing end-of-life and in-home support services.

The judicial contention originates from a video recording wherein Oz toured the Van Nuys district of Los Angeles, highlighting a contiguous four-block vicinity which he asserted housed 42 end-of-life care facilities, implying possible illicit activities perpetrated by what he characterized as the “Russian Armenian mafia.”

Nevertheless, Oz states that the matter of deception is not confined solely to California.

Brooke Rollins, the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, participates in ‘Mornings with Maria’ to address a SNAP shortcoming which permitted a wealthy individual to become eligible for aid, the intensified efforts against deceit, and escalating fertilizer expenses affecting American cultivators.

“In Flushing, [New York], I recently stated our belief that the Chinese government could be implicated. In southern Florida, where the number of robust medical apparatus providers is double that of McDonald’s establishments, our assessment is that the Cuban administration is implicated,” he conveyed to Asman.

Worries regarding deception have emerged as an increasing area of concentration for the Trump government, subsequent to prominent instances in states such as Minnesota, which have instigated more extensive dialogues concerning the utilization of public funds and governmental responsibility.
