America’s top diplomat, Marco Rubio, issued a caution that Iran held the capacity to “cut off a fifth of the world’s energy supply,” stating that the Trump administration intended to initiate measures to “alleviate” the repercussions of this potential peril.
“This extremist government, guided by radical clerics, possesses the ability to halt 20 percent of global energy. Such is the influential power they wield due to their naval forces,” he declared, further stating, “we intend to annihilate their navy.”
Rubio additionally mentioned the existence of “an established strategy . . . to lessen the impact.” Energy minister Chris Wright and Treasury minister Scott Bessent were scheduled to “unveil these steps, commencing tomorrow,” he affirmed.
He also endeavoured to dismiss criticism alleging that the White House had not elucidated the objective of its military operation.
“The United States executed this manoeuvre with a distinctly defined aim in mind . . . I fail to comprehend the source of the bewilderment,” Rubio stated at the Capitol, where he was slated to brief congressional leaders later on Monday afternoon.
He indicated that the U.S. was undertaking “a mission to neutralize the peril from Iran’s short-range ballistic missiles and the hazard stemming from their fleet, specifically towards marine property.”
Rubio gave notice that the most “severe” American assaults against Iran had not yet transpired. “The most formidable blows are still pending from the US military,” he affirmed, further noting that the “subsequent stage will inflict even greater hardship on Iran than currently witnessed.”
