The Cleveland Browns organization announced that their defensive back, Ronnie Hickman, was attacked in the reception area of a New York City hotel during the early hours of Monday.
In an official declaration, the Browns stated that Hickman, aged 24, received care for slight wounds at a local medical facility following the event. He was subsequently discharged and is now recuperating at home with his family.
An account from the New York Post indicates that an altercation ensued after Hickman was confronted by four individuals in the foyer of the SIXTY LES hotel sometime after 4:30 a.m. ET. Per the same account, the assailants struck Hickman before departing the hotel.
A resident of New Jersey, Hickman recently concluded his third professional campaign in the NFL. He commenced all 17 games for the Browns, achieving personal bests in stops (103), defended passes (7), and picks (2). He is set to become a forthcoming constrained free agent this post-season.
