When Manchester City travel to face Leeds United, they will aim to narrow the gap to a two-point deficit behind frontrunners Arsenal.
Last Saturday, Pep Guardiola’s squad faced a challenging task to secure their 2-1 home triumph against Newcastle United, a result that momentarily reduced the lead at the summit.
Arsenal, however, swiftly re-established a five-point advantage – with an additional match played – following their decisive 4-1 win in the North London derby against Tottenham.
Traveling to Elland Road presents a formidable challenge, as Leeds have suffered only a single home defeat since November.

Leeds United v Manchester City: Key Statistics
- Leeds have been defeated in all of their last five Premier League encounters with City, a stark contrast to their first 16 matches against them in the competition where they registered only four losses (W7 D5).
- City have claimed victory in their most recent two away league fixtures against Leeds. A run of three consecutive away victories has occurred only once, achieved during their initial three visits to Elland Road between 1924 and 1928.
- Since early December, Leeds have recorded more stalemates (8) than any other Premier League team. The Whites took a 1-0 lead in three of their last four draws, all of which ultimately concluded in a 1-1 tie.
- Since the 2017-18 campaign, City have allowed two or more goals in just three of their 52 Premier League matches against recently promoted sides. Two of these instances were against Leeds (suffering a 2-1 defeat in April 2021, securing a 3-2 victory in November 2025) and the other was versus Daniel Farke’s Norwich City in September 2019 (a 3-2 loss).
- City have suffered just one defeat in their last 14 Premier League fixtures when competing on the day preceding Arsenal’s match (W10 D3). This single loss was a 2-1 reverse against Newcastle in November earlier this season.
- Since the commencement of the 2021-22 season, Leeds have maintained a shutout in only seven of their 43 Premier League matches after opening the scoring. Their sole two clean sheets of this kind this season occurred after they took a 1-0 lead in the 84th minute (against Everton) and 90th minute (against Fulham). Furthermore, when taking a 1-0 lead in the first half, Leeds have given up a goal in each of their last 21 matches, a streak dating back to a 3-0 victory against Chelsea in August 2022.
- Haaland, the Leeds-born forward, netted a brace of Premier League goals during his most recent trip to Elland Road for City in December 2022. However, he has failed to score in his two home games against Leeds. No opposing player has ever managed to score two or more goals in consecutive Premier League visits to Elland Road.
- Nico O’Reilly has found the net in his most recent two Premier League appearances for City. The last City player to score in three successive matches before turning 21 was Foden, achieving this feat in June/July 2020.
- Three of Anton Stach’s four Premier League goals have originated from direct free-kicks. Only Ian Harte, in the 2000-01 season (4), has ever registered more in a single Premier League campaign for Leeds. He is also the first player to score three in his inaugural Premier League campaign since James Maddison did so in 2018-19 (3 for Leicester), and only Laurent Robert in 2001-02 for Newcastle has achieved a higher tally in his first season (5).
