Discord currently operates security mechanisms designed to identify spam networks, thwart incursions, and uncover synchronized misconduct. These are driven by our governing rules engine, which we recently made publicly available as Osprey for utilization by other platforms. The process of verifying age operates similarly, employing an identical class of user-level indicators. These include the duration your account has been active, the presence of a stored payment method, the nature of the communities you participate in, and overarching patterns of account engagement. Crucially, this system neither peruses your messages, analyzes your dialogues, nor reviews the material you publish. Recognizing that simply saying ‘trust us’ is insufficient in this context, we will, therefore, disclose the underlying methodology prior to the worldwide rollout.
