Facebook Marketplace is unveiling novel Meta AI functionalities, among them a capability that autonomously responds to inquiries from prospective purchasers, as disclosed by Facebook on Thursday. This digital platform is also harnessing AI to assist vendors in expediting item cataloging and condensing profiles, while simultaneously granting them the choice to incorporate shipping for their listed products.
The organization states that, given the substantial volume of prospective purchaser questions received by vendors, it is simplifying the process of replying to preliminary communications through automated responses driven by Meta AI. Presently, when buyers inquire about a product’s availability, sellers can leverage Meta AI to autonomously compose replies, incorporating details from their advertisement such as the item particulars, stock status, collection point, and cost. Vendors retain the ability to activate, review, and modify these automatic replies during the creation of their product entry.
This fresh capability is intended to mitigate a frequent challenge for vendors, who often prefer not to allocate undue periods to answering preliminary or repetitive queries—for instance, questions concerning a product’s readiness when its status is already indicated as in stock. Notably, one merchant had even fashioned a proprietary AI instrument last year to process these opening requests from potential customers.
Furthermore, Facebook Marketplace presently empowers vendors to catalog their products autonomously by employing Meta AI. Subsequent to submitting a product photograph, Meta AI can generate a preliminary advertisement, populate the particulars, and propose a cost derived from analogous goods locally.
In addition, purchasers can now view a concise overview of a vendor’s Facebook account prominently displayed at the apex of their Marketplace portal, encompassing their Facebook tenure and friend count. This synopsis further incorporates a brief account of their Marketplace engagements, for example, past advertisements, categories of goods offered, and merchant evaluations.
Vendors can presently broaden their scope by providing delivery services for their advertised products, according to Facebook. Furthermore, they are capable of creating pre-paid delivery tags and conveniently keeping tabs on all purchases from an intuitive control panel.
These latest AI capabilities complement Facebook Marketplace’s pre-existing Meta AI components, encompassing an instrument designed to aid purchasers in formulating pertinent queries at the point of acquisition, alongside AI-driven analyses for automobile advertisements.
