Kuxiu Qi2 25W Travel Charging Station for $79: This charging device collapses into a remarkably compact form, and its metal framework, encased in silicone, exhibits a rather robust feel. It is capable of delivering 25 watts to compatible Qi2 handsets and is available in several distinct finishes. A 45-watt power adapter and a USB-C cable are included in the package. Regrettably, its aesthetic appeal does not resonate with me, and I found simultaneous charging of all three devices to be cumbersome. Its excessive compactness, in fact, leads to a sense of crowding.
UAG 3-in-1 Travel and Desktop Charger for $170: This item nearly garnered an endorsement until its cost was noted. It represents a very clever 3-in-1 charging assembly that folds flat and arrives in a stylish zippered pouch, complete with a 4-foot braided USB-C cord and a 25-watt power adapter, which includes plugs for the US, UK, and European regions. Your iPhone can be supported at varying angles on its MagSafe stand, and it functions effectively with StandBy mode and Nightstand mode for your Apple Watch. However, since it lacks Qi2 certification, the advertised 15-watt charging rate for an iPhone will not be achieved. Ultimately, its price point is simply too high.
Aukey MagFusion Z Qi2 3-in-1 Foldable Charging Station for $80: This ingenious 3-in-1 charging station collapses very tidily and feels robust, though its weight is somewhat considerable for portability. My Apple Watch frequently leaned to one side on the charger and would not engage Nightstand mode unless positioned above the primary charger; this is also the required orientation for the iPhone to rest in landscape for StandBy mode.
Woodie Milano Foldie for $134: This 3-in-1 charging unit, which marries Nappa leather with aluminum and glass, neatly folds away and presents a very elegant appearance. It features a circular MagSafe iPhone charging pad (15 watts), a central pad designated for AirPods, and the option to charge your Apple Watch flat or elevate the charger for Nightstand mode. Furthermore, it can be folded into a wedge configuration to power your iPhone in StandBy mode with your Apple Watch situated on its reverse side. A USB-C cable is supplied, but a separate wall charger will be necessary.
Mophie 3-in-1 Travel Charger With MagSafe for $110: This compact travel kit includes a carrying case, a charging block, and a USB-C cord. The square-stacked item unfolds to reveal three wireless charging zones integrated into an elongated pad. The iPhone adheres magnetically to the central area (15 watts), and the Apple Watch dock facilitates Nightstand mode (with this 2023 model also supporting rapid charging). A grooved area is provided for the AirPods. Its tactile quality is excellent, it is space-saving, and generally quite light.
Twelve South Butterfly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger for $100: This extraordinarily compact 2-in-1 charger resembles a hockey puck. Upon opening the Butterfly, one discovers two pads connected by a pliable silicone substance. An Apple Watch can be quickly charged on one—with the option to elevate the charger for Nightstand mode—while the other circular area permits recharging your MagSafe iPhone at 15 watts. It’s an exceptionally space-efficient solution, and Twelve South furnishes a 30-watt charger and cable, along with international plug adapters.
Native Union Voyage 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger for $100: For a slightly more modest sum, reviews editor Adrienne So also appreciates Native Union’s Qi2 butterfly option, which does not come with plug adapters but is supplied in a neat travel pouch and includes a cable.
ESR HaloLock 3-in-1 Travel Wireless Charging Set for $44: This is a respectable travel set at an affordable cost. Your iPhone can be positioned in either portrait or landscape orientation, your Apple Watch can be displayed in Nightstand mode (by reversing its direction), and there is a dedicated pad for AirPods. It folds down, accommodating the included cable and wall charger, within a faux leather case. Sadly, its iPhone charging capability is limited to 7.5 watts.
Avoid These Charging Devices
Mous Travel Charger: While the compact, folding nature of this charger and its modest price point impressed me, it tends to become rather warm when all three of your Apple gadgets are being powered, and the AirPods’ charging location is temperamental.
