Government oversight bodies on Friday issued a caution that a widespread occurrence of a severely antibiotic-defying salmonella contamination has been associated with moringa powder, a botanical additive rich in vital compounds that has lately gained significant traction as a fashionable “power food.”
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), following a tracing inquiry, declared that the incident was connected to specific Rosabella-brand pills sold throughout the nation by Ambrosia Brands LLC.
Moringa powder, utilized for therapeutic and nutritional benefits, originates from the dehydrated foliage of the Moringa oleifera tree, which is indigenous to India and frequently known as the “wonder tree.”
A minimum of seven individuals across seven states contracted the pathogenic variant from November 7th to January 8th, as reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Authorities indicated that instances arose in Washington, Arizona, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee and Florida.

Three individuals required inpatient care, and no fatalities have been documented.
The FDA stated that researchers questioned three afflicted persons, each of whom confirmed ingesting the pills.
Authorities highlighted that the salmonella variant tied to the contagion is immune to all primary and secondary antimicrobial drugs typically employed to combat salmonella ailments.
Furthermore, the FDA declared that Ambrosia Brands LLC assented to withdrawing specific batches of Rosabella-brand moringa powder pills from circulation.

Salmonella represents a bacterium capable of inducing severe and occasionally lethal ailments between 12 and 72 hours post-consumption in infants, seniors, and individuals with compromised immune defenses.
Robust individuals afflicted with the contagion frequently encounter elevated temperature, loose stools, queasiness, emesis, and stomach discomfort. Under graver and less common conditions, the bacterium may permeate the circulatory system and engender more critical pathologies like vascular infections, inflammation of the heart lining, and joint inflammation.
