While most top-tier smartphones have been progressively thinning over recent years, the forthcoming 2026 iteration of the Motorola Razr Ultra may actually prove to be somewhat more substantial than its forerunner. Revealed dimensions of the device, shared on Thursday byXpertPickandOnLeaks, indicate it will possess a marginally greater thickness than the 2025 model, measuring approximately 0.1mm more when folded and 0.6mm more in its expanded state.
Based on the disclosed specifications, the precise measurements for the Ultra 2026 are 171.3 x 74.1 x 7.8mm when open and 88.0 x 74.1 x 15.8mm when closed. Should the camera module be factored in, the Ultra 2026 could extend up to 9.6mm in its unfolded form or 17.63mm when collapsed.
Nonetheless, an increase in its overall volume could lead to a superior handset. In her assessment of the Ultra 2025,The Verge’s Allison Johnson noted its struggle to truly contend with other premium devices, particularly due to its erratic camera performance. If Motorola has rendered the Ultra 2026 a touch thicker to accommodate an enhanced camera system or other significant improvements, it might be better positioned to rival similarly-priced conventional smartphones on this occasion.
