Following its aerial assaults on Iran in the early hours of Saturday, Israel sealed its airspace and enforced nationwide limitations on public gatherings.
Alarm bells blared across Israel, cautioning residents to remain near protective havens in the aftermath of the assault. This strike, which impacted Tehran’s core districts, came after weeks of prolonged strain between the Islamic Republic and the United States.
“An assault involving missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles targeting the Israeli state and its non-combatant populace is anticipated imminently,” cautioned Israel’s Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, in an official declaration that revealed the offensive.
The Iranian capital had previously warned that it would exact retribution, should it be subjected to an assault, specifically by aiming at Israel and American military installations throughout the Middle East.
Whether the United States had participated in Israel’s offensive was not instantly evident.
