Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been apprehended at his Sandringham residence in a police operation, following disclosures concerning his association with the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

On Thursday, Thames Valley Police stated they had commenced an inquiry into an offense of malfeasance in public office.

“An individual in his sixties from Norfolk has been taken into custody and remains there,” the police announced.

The constabulary last week indicated it was evaluating evidence to determine whether to initiate a comprehensive probe against Mountbatten-Windsor for official misconduct, subsequent to revelations about his conduct during his tenure.

Mountbatten-Windsor’s connection with Epstein faced renewed scrutiny this year when the US Department of Justice released millions of records pertaining to the disgraced financier.

The documents indicated that Mountbatten-Windsor, whose “prince” title was revoked by his brother King Charles last year, had advocated for Epstein during a state visit with the Queen to the United Arab Emirates in 2010.

These files also included a photograph of Mountbatten-Windsor on all fours over a young female.

It remained unclear which particular events the arrests were connected to. Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently repudiated any financial or sexual impropriety stemming from his connections with Epstein and his associates.

King Charles earlier this month expressed his readiness to assist police inquiries concerning his sibling.

Epstein was discovered deceased in a New York correctional facility cell in 2019 while awaiting trial for charges related to child sexual offenses. He had previously been found guilty in 2008 of soliciting sexual acts from a minor.
