Edge rusher Bradley Chubb finalized a pact for a three-year contract valued at $43.5 million, potentially increasing to $52.5 million, with $29 million firmly guaranteed alongside the Buffalo Bills, his representative ErikBurkhardt informed Adam Schefter of ESPN.
On Wednesday, the Dolphins formally discharged Chubb, thereby paving the way for him to join Miami’s AFC East division competitor.
Chubb recorded a leading 8.5 sacks for the team with Miami during the 2025 season, participating in every one of the 17 matchups. He held the role of team captain and was honored with the local press’s “Good Guy” accolade due to his steadfast presence and decorum when interacting with journalists.
The Dolphins dispatched a first-round selection to the Denver Broncos back in 2022 in return for Chubb, and promptly secured him with a five-year, $110 million contract extension. He achieved his second season of double-digit sacks, tallying 11 in 2023; however, he sustained a grave injury to his right knee during Week 17, encompassing a ruptured ACL, meniscus, and patellar tendon.
Despite his pressure rate of 10.5% in 2025 ranking as the third greatest of his career, he faced double-teams during a personal best 23.1% of his pass-rushing attempts, a factor that led to his career-lowest 7.8% pass-rush win rate. Furthermore, he accounted for a $31 million cap allocation in 2026, will reach the age of 30 in June, and has experienced ACL ruptures in both knees throughout his eight-season NFL tenure.
Having been selected fifth overall by the Broncos in 2018, Chubb possesses a total of 48 sacks over his career.
