He resides in Las Vegas, and is a passionate, somewhat mediocre golfer in his leisure time.

Prominent UFC figure Conor McGregor is once more hinting at a potential comeback to the octagon, this time facing an unheralded opponent.

McGregor (22-6) has been sidelined since July 2021, yet has consistently voiced his desire to participate in a bout in 2026 — notably at the UFC’s White House gathering in June. On Saturday, the erstwhile dual-division titleholder disclosed via social platforms his preparedness to take on an “unknown” adversary, and implored the UFC to dispatch him an agreement.

“An unrenowned individual might be my next adversary, everyone,” McGregor penned on X, further stating that “I AGREE. Forward the agreement, chaps.”

McGregor’s post occurs scant days subsequent to him uploading — then promptly removed — a separate declaration on social media where he announced, “I’ve been presented with a challenger and a timeframe, and I consent.”

The 37-year-old was slated to contend with Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June 2024, but was compelled to pull out at the eleventh hour owing to a damaged digit. UFC CEO Dana White disclosed prior in the year his receptiveness to a McGregor resurgence, but clarified it would no longer be opposite Chandler. That posed the lucrative query of the identity of McGregor’s potential adversary.

McGregor sustained a fractured limb amidst his most recent contest, a technical knockout defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Three of his last four showings occurred in the lightweight category, with the fourth transpiring in the welterweight class. The weight class he might re-enter in 2026 remains ambiguous. His planned encounter with Chandler in 2024 was set for five rounds, capped at 170 pounds.
