PHILADELPHIA — Joel Embiid is set to be sidelined for a minimum of three contests due to a right oblique strain, the 76ers confirmed on Saturday.
The injury to Embiid occurred during the 76ers’ 124-117 triumph over Miami on Thursday evening. An MRI examination conducted Saturday subsequently disclosed the nature of the ailment, as reported by the team.
Embiid will not feature in Sunday’s game in Boston. He is slated for another assessment once the 76ers have concluded their consecutive home fixtures on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The prominent center accumulated 26 points and 11 rebounds last Thursday, and his February average of 29 points positioned him at the top of the Eastern Conference.
