Tottenham’s custodian, Guglielmo Vicario, is scheduled for a hernia operation, which will render him unavailable for nearly a month.
Antonin Kinsky is poised to be propelled into Tottenham’s ongoing battle for Premier League survival, as the team’s primary goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario, prepares for a hernia operation that could sideline him for a month.
Kinsky has been inactive since his substitution just seventeen minutes into Spurs’ 5-2 defeat at Atletico Madrid on March 10. Despite his unexpected recall for the fixture at the Metropolitano, the Czech custodian committed blunders contributing to two of Atletico’s initial three goals before being removed by coach Igor Tudor.
Vicario featured in the subsequent encounter against Liverpool and the return match versus Atletico. He is also slated to play this Sunday against Nottingham Forest in a crucial six-pointer near the bottom of the Premier League table, before his surgery takes place.
An official club statement declared: “We can confirm that Guglielmo Vicario will undergo surgery next week on a hernia.
“This minor intervention for the Italy international goalkeeper has been scheduled to ensure the least possible disruption to our current season.
“Guglielmo is set to commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff immediately, and it is anticipated that he could return to play within the next month.”
Even if he recovers within a month, he is still anticipated to miss the away fixture to Sunderland on April 12th and the home encounter with Brighton the subsequent weekend.
