Xiaomi today unveiled an assortment of devices in anticipation of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. These introductions included a photography-centric premium smartphone, a location tracker akin to AirTag, the Xiaomi Watch 5 smartwatch, and an exceptionally slender power bank.

The China-based corporation has collaborated with camera manufacturer Leica to jointly brand its Xiaomi 17 Ultra mobile phone. Through this alliance, it incorporates Leica lenses and develops photographic filters that emulate the aesthetic of the German camera enterprise.

This handset features a 50-megapixel primary imaging sensor with an F/1.67 aperture and a 1-inch sensor. However, the most striking feature is the 200-megapixel telephoto camera, which boasts an adjustable focal distance equivalent to 75mm-100mm. This translates to an optical magnification range between 3.2x and 4.3x. Additionally, the phone is outfitted with a 50 MP super-wide-angle lens featuring an f/2.2 aperture.

Also noteworthy: The phone incorporates a 6,000 mAh battery (with the Chinese variant offering a larger capacity 6,800mAh battery). Its power can be replenished using a 90W USB PD-PPS connection, and it is compatible with Xiaomi’s 50W Hypercharge wireless technology.

The device sports a 6.9-inch Xiaomi HyperRGB OLED display, safeguarded by Xiaomi’s proprietary Shield Glass 3.0. For processing power, the company opted for Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a chip also employed in the recently debuted Galaxy S26 series.

To commemorate 100 years of the camera company, Xiaomi is also introducing a special Leica edition phone. This unit presents a robust aluminum-alloy body with a nickel-anodized finish. Furthermore, Xiaomi has integrated a Leica theme within its software interface.

The handset incorporates a rotating ring that simulates optical zoom on a traditional camera. This commemorative version additionally features a “Leica Essential mode,” which includes filters designed to reproduce images in the characteristic style of Leica M9 and Leica M3.
