Airbnb declared Tuesday it is broadening its service offering with a new category for private vehicle collections across 125 global metropolises. The firm is collaborating with transportation company Welcome Pickups to enable patrons to reserve a personal car service in locales including Paris, Bali, and Mexico City.
The tourism enterprise stated that it has been conducting a trial program this year in Europe and Asia, where “thousands of guests” utilized it, achieving an average rating of 4.96. Airbnb explained that upon reserving accommodation in a city where the service is accessible, users will observe an option to arrange a personal taxi to the property within the Trips tab of the Airbnb application. Patrons can examine their private vehicle booking particulars and implement modifications directly from the app.
“Airbnb Services are formulated to elevate a visitor’s experience, and our alliance with Welcome Pickups provides that assurance from their arrival instant,” Dave Stephenson, chief business officer at Airbnb, stated in a declaration.
The company mentioned that it intends to extend this feature to additional urban centers and sites throughout the year. Airbnb unveiled its service division last summer, concurrently with an expansion into experiences. At that period, it presented 10 classifications of services, whereby patrons could arrange for chefs, catering provisions, pre-made dishes, photography, bodywork, wellness therapy, individual instruction, hair styling, manicures, and cosmetics across eight nations.
In November, the firm disclosed a collaboration with Instacart, permitting visitors to procure provisions before and during their sojourn in selected cities in the U.S.
With the new feature’s introduction, Airbnb is advancing towards a comprehensive suite of service provisions. The enterprise has also been exploring the ability for patrons to secure hotel lodging.
During its Q4 2025 quarterly fiscal discussion, Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky expressed that the prospect within the hospitality sector is enormous, and it would enable the platform to integrate as an essential component of a traveler’s journey, “regardless of the kind of stay a guest desires.”
