Sources conveyed to ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Las Vegas Raiders are elevating Rob Leonard, their run game coordinator/defensive line coach, to the position of defensive coordinator.
During the previous season, Leonard collaborated intimately with Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby, whose prospects in Las Vegas continue to be uncertain.
In 2023, Leonard commenced his tenure with the Raiders, having previously spent one season as the Baltimore Ravens’ outside linebackers coach. Preceding his period in Baltimore, Leonard was affiliated with the Miami Dolphins for three years (2019-21), where he occupied various roles throughout his time there.
Furthermore, he dedicated the initial six seasons (2013-18) of his NFL coaching journey to the New York Giants, serving in an assistant capacity.
