On Saturday, third-division Mansfield Town delivered a stunning upset, defeating top-flight club Burnley during the FA Cup’s fourth round at Turf Moor.
Additionally, two fixtures solely involving Championship teams unfolded, as Norwich City welcomed West Bromwich Albion, and Leicester City journeyed to Southampton.
The on-form Canaries netted two decisive goals late in their match to secure their win, whereas the Saints emerged victorious in additional time, eliminating the Foxes.

Burnley vs Mansfield Town: Reed Set-piece Secures Upset
Mansfield’s skipper, Louis Reed, bent in a 25-yard set-piece with just 10 minutes left on the clock. This secured a remarkable 2-1 recovery victory at Burnley, allowing the Stags to progress to the fifth round – their first time since 1975. Burnley, meanwhile, appear destined for relegation, languishing deep within the Premier League’s drop zone.
A composed strike from Josh Laurent within the penalty area had put the Clarets ahead in the 21st minute. However, Rhys Oates, who also saw an earlier goal disallowed, nodded in the leveler eight minutes into the second half.
Southampton vs Leicester: Bree’s Goal Propels Saints Forward
Replacement player James Bree clinched the victory with a header in the 109th minute, as Southampton narrowly defeated 2021’s former champions, Leicester, by a score of 2-1.
Cyle Larin’s spot-kick had given the home side the lead during first-half injury time, following Caleb Okoli’s foul on Sam Edozie. Nevertheless, Oliver Skipp’s spectacular bicycle kick equalised for Leicester in the 52nd minute.
Norwich vs West Brom: Mohamed Toure Strikes Once More
Australian forward Mohamed Toure registered a treble for Norwich at Oxford United during his debut start on Tuesday. The acquisition from Randers, who joined just two weeks prior, has now accumulated five goals in barely over two hours of play, having nodded home the concluding goal in their 3-1 victory against West Brom in the 93rd minute of added time.
Another new arrival for City, Paris Maghoma, had opened the scoring with a header in the 31st minute. However, Josh Maja’s effort – after he had previously seen a goal disallowed – restored parity for the Baggies.
Replacement Ben Chrisene then slotted home to re-establish Norwich’s advantage in the 82nd minute. This marked their seventh victory in eight matches across all tournaments.
