Hyundai Motor is issuing a recall for over 61,000 Palisade sport utility vehicles in the United States, following a problem with motorized seating systems that was associated with the fatality of a child, federal regulators announced.
The recall pertains to model year 2026 Palisade and Palisade Hybrid automobiles featuring the Limited and Calligraphy specification levels, the manufacturer stated in an official recall document submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
“The second and third-row power seat assemblies installed in the affected automobiles might not react as designed to contact with a passenger or item when engaging specific motorized seat functions, including the automated power-folding (stow) capability and the ‘single-touch’ tilt-and-slide (walk-in) functionality of the second-row power seat assembly,” the document revealed.
