Apple is augmenting its array of offerings with a more affordable iPhone model.

On Monday, the California-based technology titan unveiled the iPhone 17e, a budget-friendly new member of its iPhone 17 series, priced from $599. This gadget is offered in shades of black, white, and soft pink.

The iPhone 17e features an initial 256GB of memory, providing twice the foundational storage of the prior model at the identical introductory cost.

This gadget is powered by Apple’s latest A19 chip and incorporates the firm’s new C1X modem, which Apple states enhances power duration. Furthermore, the company asserts its new 48MP Fusion camera offers “the functionalities of two sophisticated imaging systems combined.”

This disclosure coincides with the iPhone 17 demonstrating robust performance in the initial financial quarter of 2026, where its sales soared by almost a quarter. CEO Tim Cook characterized these outcomes as “astonishing” during an interview with FOX Business.

Apple generated $143.8 billion in income during its opening financial quarter, increasing by 16% compared to the preceding year. Cook stated this represented an unprecedented revenue period for North America and within China, a region where the company has conceded market dominance to indigenous rivals in the past few years.

Concurrently, Apple is increasing costs for multiple MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, which were introduced on Tuesday and are equipped with the company’s newest M5 chips. These cost escalations occur amidst a worldwide semiconductor scarcity, termed “RAMageddon,” largely driven by the surge in appetite for artificial intelligence.

The 13-inch MacBook Air is now priced from $1,099, an increase from $999, while the 15-inch variant is available starting at $1,299, up from $1,199. Apple is increasing twofold the foundational capacity to 512GB across both models, as reported by Bloomberg.

Costs are also escalating for the entire MacBook Pro range. The 14-inch model featuring the M5 Pro chip is now priced at $2,199, an increment from $1,999, and the 16-inch variant is climbing to $2,699, up from $2,499.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro, equipped with the M5 Max chip, commences at $3,599, whereas the 16-inch version is introduced at $3,899 – representing a $400 increase for each. The regular M5 MacBook Pro also experienced a cost increase, ascending to $1,699, Bloomberg reported.

On Wednesday, Apple also disclosed the MacBook Neo, branding it as its most budget-friendly computer to date. The 13-inch gadget is available from $599, or $499 for academic purchasers.
