The representative for Erling Haaland has dismissed claims that the Manchester City forward might transfer to Barcelona, should presidential hopeful Victor Font triumph in Sunday’s ballot.
Font, competing against Joan Laporta, implied he had engaged in discussions with City and the athlete’s entourage, aiming to secure a preferential arrangement – in essence, an initial right of refusal on the Norwegian player if he chose to depart the Etihad Stadium in the forthcoming years.
Haaland penned a nine-and-a-half-year pact with City in January of the previous year and seems in no hurry to depart.
Furthermore, his representative Rafaela Pimenta has cast doubt on any prospective arrangement, informing El Chringuito de Jugones: “We hold significant regard and esteem for Barcelona, yet there has been absolutely no communication whatsoever — either with Erling Haaland or with Barcelona’s administration, concerning prospective transfer objectives.
“Moreover, given that the player extended his agreement several months prior, he is exceedingly content at Manchester City.
“Matters are progressing exceptionally well for him, and we genuinely have no grounds to converse about a transfer when circumstances are so favorable at City.”
All is conceivable – Font stays hopeful regarding a Haaland agreement
Font seemed to retract slightly upon learning of Pimenta’s comments, but nevertheless asserted Haaland might eventually join Camp Nou.
He informed Mundo Deportivo: “In the near future, he is unable to sign because he extended a considerably long-term agreement last year. However, I personally am persuaded that such 10-year pacts seldom reach their full term.
“Every outcome is achievable, and we must be ready for a player of this caliber, who has expressed fondness for Spain and stated last year his affection for Camp Nou, to potentially make a move.”

Haaland’s monetary requirements would impede any agreement in the immediate term. Even though Barca has stabilized its finances subsequent to its widely known monetary concerns, they are not yet equipped to equal the reported £500,000-a-week remuneration Haaland earns at City.
Haaland is experiencing yet another fruitful season under Pep Guardiola’s squad. He has netted 22 goals in the Premier League and an additional seven in the Champions League.
He arrived at City from Borussia Dortmund during the summer of 2022 and has assisted the club in securing two Premier League championships and the 2023 Champions League trophy.
