Mohamed Salah has declared his intention to depart from Liverpool once the present season concludes.
Having joined Anfield from Roma in 2017, the 33-year-old has featured in 435 matches for Liverpool, netting 255 goals.
An announcement on Liverpool’s official website proclaimed: “Mohamed Salah is set to conclude his distinguished tenure with Liverpool following the 2025-26 campaign.
“The forward has finalized a pact with the Reds, which will enable him to conclude an extraordinary nine-year period at Anfield.
“Salah conveyed his desire to deliver this disclosure to the supporters at the first available chance, aiming to offer clarity regarding his future out of deference and appreciation for them.”
During the current campaign, Liverpool have experienced an underwhelming championship protection, with Salah only finding the net on five occasions in the Premier League up to this point.
In the previous year, he tallied 29 goals across 38 appearances.
‘It’s more than a football club’
Salah delivered a heartfelt declaration to Liverpool fans. He remarked:
“Hello everyone. Regrettably, the moment has arrived. This marks the initial segment of my departure. I will be departing from Liverpool when the season concludes. I wanted to commence by mentioning that I had never conceived the extent to which this club, this city, and these people would integrate into my existence.
“Liverpool is more than merely a soccer establishment. It embodies ardor, a rich legacy, and a unique essence. I cannot articulate it verbally to anyone unaffiliated with this establishment. We rejoiced in triumphs, secured the most significant accolades, and endured jointly during the most challenging periods of our lives.
“I wish to express gratitude to everyone involved with this club during my tenure here, particularly my colleagues, both former and current. And to the fans, I am at a loss for words. The backing you provided me through the peak moments of my professional journey, and how you supported me steadfastly in the most arduous periods, is something I will always cherish and perpetually carry with me.
“Departure is invariably challenging. You granted me the most fulfilling period of my existence, and I will forever be considered one of your own. This club will perpetually serve as my sanctuary, for both myself and my family. My thanks for everything. Owing to each and every one of you, I will never walk alone.”
