Renowned coding platform Replit has achieved yet another significant funding landmark. On Wednesday, the firm disclosed it had secured a $400 million Series D funding round, valuing it at $9 billion, spearheaded by an existing backer, Georgian Partners. Additional investors involved comprise G Squared, Prysm Capital, Coatue, Andreessen Horowitz, Craft Ventures, Y Combinator, Accenture Ventures, Okta Ventures, and Databricks Ventures.
Amjad Masad, the company’s Founder and CEO, also stated in a social media update on X that its supporters feature prominent angel investors such as Shaquille O’Neal and Jared Leto.
This development comes after the startup attained a $3 billion valuation in September, when it secured a $250 million funding round. Back then, Replit indicated it was progressing towards $150 million in annual recurring revenue. Replit refrained from disclosing refreshed, current annual recurring revenue statistics; however, the firm informed Forbes of its aspiration to achieve $1 billion in annual recurring revenue before the year concludes.
Although Replit’s recent ascent has been remarkably rapid, Masad had previously informed TechCrunch that it required nine years of persistent effort — coupled with a contentious choice to shift focus from catering to professional developers towards those without programming backgrounds — to discover its optimal operational rhythm.
