When the weather becomes milder, it’s appealing to move your exercise routines outdoors. These headphones, utilizing bone conduction, allow users to enjoy audio content without losing awareness of their environment, rendering them perfectly suited for activities like jogging, strolls, and various other pursuits. Up until April 7th, Shokz is offering price reductions on a range of its models as part of its springtime promotion, encompassing everything from the Shokz OpenFit Air Earbuds to the OpenDots One clip. Nevertheless, the most attractive offer focuses on theShokz OpenRun Pro 2, currently available for $139.99 (a $40 saving) via Amazon, Best Buy, and Shokz’s own website. This represents their most competitive price point since December, falling just $15 short of their historical minimum.
To date, the OpenRun Pro 2 represent Shokz’s finest bone conduction headphones, successfully resolving a persistent issue within this product type: bass quality. The secure, open-ear structure, ideal for exercise, frequently compromises audio clarity. The OpenRun Pro 2 resolves this challenge by incorporating specialized 18mm by 11mm air conduction transducers, which, according to our reviewer Victoria Song, provided significantly deeper bass and more distinct audio compared to the earlier model.
The wearability also garnered her approval. The revised configuration incorporates slimmer, more pliable ear loops joined to a featherlight neckband, which provides a more stable and pleasant sensation compared to previous versions such as the AfterShokz. While prior iterations often felt excessively snug around the temples and uneasy when worn with eyewear, the diminished pressure and pliable construction of this model offer a significant improvement.
Beyond providing superior audio quality, the OpenRun Pro 2 also features enhanced power duration. These devices can operate for up to 12 hours following one full charging cycle and now replenish their power via USB-C. Furthermore, they incorporate AI-driven ambient sound reduction intended to enhance communication quality, although in our evaluations, this feature proved not to be especially potent. Nevertheless, for those seeking an ergonomic and safety-conscious set of headwear, these remain a robust choice, especially if your main use involves enjoying audio content or spoken-word broadcasts.
