According to ESPN sources, the Golden State Warriors have declared their prominent point guard, Stephen Curry, unavailable for an additional ten days due to a nagging right knee ailment.
This decision will prolong Curry’s time away for a minimum of five more contests. He has been absent from the preceding fifteen straight matchups due to what the squad refers to as patellofemoral pain syndrome, commonly referred to as “runner’s knee,” a condition typically presenting with inflammation and discomfort surrounding the patella.
Lately, Curry has progressed to on-court activities, marking a crucial stage in his bid to rejoin the lineup. Insiders within the organization persistently characterize Curry as highly driven to come back for the final phase of the season and endeavor to shepherd the faltering Warriors into playoff contention via the play-in tournament structure. He plans to step up his practice activities in the coming days.
However, Curry has labeled this problem with his right knee as “erratic,” having already encountered impediments since the condition first manifested during a solo practice session in Minneapolis on January 24. He was at first confident of coming back immediately following the All-Star hiatus, but scaled back his practice routine when it failed to react favorably.
The Warriors have suffered three consecutive defeats, encompassing challenging consecutive losses to the Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz, both teams expected to finish at the bottom. With a 32-33 record, they have slipped past the LA Clippers into the ninth position, seeming progressively fated for a play-in contest between the ninth and tenth ranked teams against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Curry is set to be absent from Friday’s match at their arena against the Minnesota Timberwolves, followed by away matchups in the coming week against the New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics, and Detroit Pistons.
